What size wall art should go above a sofa?

For most sofas, a 24" × 36" (61 × 91 cm) or 30" × 40" (76 × 102 cm) panel holds the wall without looking like a postage stamp. Longer sofas and open-plan rooms can take 36" × 48" or 40" × 60". Leave breathing room on either side rather than matching the sofa width exactly. If the listing size still feels small, ask the studio for a bespoke panel.

Hang the centre of the work near eye level — typically about 145–155 cm from the floor in a standing room — and keep a clear gap above sofa cushions so the frame is not knocked.

What size wall art should go above a sofa?

Use a 24×36 inch or 30×40 inch embroidered panel above a typical sofa, and step up to 36×48 or 40×60 inches on a long wall. Keep space on both sides of the frame and hang the centre near eye level so the textile reads as a presence, not a small accent.
